Recruitment for 2018 is now closed
Team Bumblebee is a student-run, multi-disciplinary robotics team that consists of students from Faculty of Engineering and School of Computing.
This is the vision we have set for ourselves:
Engineering autonomous systems of the future.
For the past six years, we have been building Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to compete in competitions against world-class teams from around the globe. We also have developed an Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) which we use to compete in RobotX. As a first year, you will be inducted into the hornet program where you will build and design a low cost vehicle to compete in SAUVC 2019.
Find out more about our vehicle here!
As part of our 2019 team, you will get your hands dirty with cutting-edge technology based on your field of expertise.
- Mechanical engineers will use 3D-printing and CNC machining to create the state-of-the-art mechanical systems that are designed in CAD.
- Electrical engineers will be exposed to the opportunity to design and fabricate Printed Circuit Boards and perform advanced firmware programming.
- Computing students will work on computer vision, artificial intelligence and software engineering to enable the autonomy in the robot.
Finally, for those of you who are business-inclined, you can join our business and marketing arm where you will deal with publicity and sponsorship matters!
