Bumblebee Robosub Journal 2013

 

Abstract

BUMBLEBEE AUTONOMOUS UNDERWATER VEHICLE (BBAUV) is the product of a team of students from National University of Singapore (NUS). This vehicle is designed to compete in the 16th AUVSI Robosub Competition. Over the past one year, the small team worked from scratch on our mechanical, electrical and software systems. To cope with the tight design and deployment deadlines, the team invested in stable hardware that has proved to work reliably during testing. This paper covers the various hardware and software used on board the machine for navigation, manipulation and acoustics tasks. Finally, the team was only able to fly here for Robosub 2013 because of the title sponsorship from Hallin Marine. Their support towards the team when we had nothing to show for inspired us to strive for the best.
